Paniyaram Recipe
Instant appe recipe | instant rava kuzhi paniyaram with step by step photo and video recipe. appe or paniyaram are prepared in a special pan or mould which typically has 7, 9 or 12 shell shapes. the dosa batter or leftover batter is poured into each shell which is later steamed by topping it with some oil. it is later served with choice of chutney or even sambar for morning breakfast.
i have already shared the authentic and traditional paddu recipe which is prepared from the left over dosa batter. however i wanted to share instant of version paniyaram recipe without the hassle of soaking and grounding. hence i have used normal sooji or rava which we typically use it for upma or uppittu. i have even added curd or yogurt which introduces the sourness to the batter. it also hastens the fermentation process when mixed with baking soda. alternatively even eno fruit salt can also be used for instant appe recipe in the place of baking soda. further, add the baking soda just before roasting to get the better result.
while it is one of the easiest instant breakfast recipe, yet some tips to make perfect paniyaram recipe. firstly, soak the rava well in enough curd and water. also add vegetables of your choice like capsicum, peas, beans to prepare mixed vegetable appe recipe. lastly, instant paniyaram taste great when served hot, however can be packed for lunch box.
notes:
- firstly, soak the rava well with curd else appe will not taste great. alternatively use leftover dosa batter to prepare appe / guliyappa.
- also, saute vegetables of your choice like peas, capsicum, carrot to make more healthy.
- additionally, cook on low flame, else appe will not get cooked from inside.
- finally, instant rava paniyaram recipe taste great when prepared with sauted onions, however can be made plain.

firstly, in a large mixing bowl combine 1 cup rava, ¾ cup curd and ½ tsp salt. |

mix well to form a paste without forming any lumps. |

further add ½ cup water or as required. |

mix well to form thick batter. keep aside. |

in a kadai heat 2 tsp oil and saute 1 inch ginger, 1 green chilli and ½ onion. |

saute for a minute or till onions shrink slightly. |

transfer the roasted onions into prepared rava batter. |

also add 5 curry leaves, 2 tbsp coriander leaves and combine well. |

rest for 20 minutes or untill rava absorbs water. |

furthermore add a pinch baking soda just before preparing appe and combine well. |

heat paniyaram pan / guliyappa pan / appe pan, add add few drops of oil inside the holes. |

now fill the holes with a tbsp of sooji batter in each. |

cover and simmer for a minute or untill appe gets cooked slightly. |

once the base turns golden, flip it over to the other side using a spoon. |

simmer further and cook on low heat until it turns golden browns. |

finally, serve instant rava paniyaram with tomato chutney or coconut chutney. |
